Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival

The festival is just around the corner: September 5th-7th, 2014

Every year thousands of wooden boat enthusiasts gather in Port Townsend, WA  to celebrate wooden vessels of all sizes. The Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival takes place in the Point Hudson Marina right outside our showroom.  It’s a busy weekend and a great time. This year we will once again offer test paddling during the festival. Stop by the Pygmy showroom during the show for more information.  Test paddling is a bit more limited during the festival due to crowds and tidal restrictions, so bear in mind that test paddling is always available at our showroom between the hours of 10am and 3pm, Monday-Saturday (weather permitting). This year the tides are high in the afternoon so most of the test paddling will be done in the morning.

Folks Line Up to Test Paddle At Last Year’s Festival.

Freya will once again be showing her underwater moves in a kayak rolling demonstration (3pm on Saturday), so be sure to stop by and see the bottom of her hull. Also, Freya and Laura will be presenting on Friday at 2:30 pm in the Explorer Room (red building) on “Kayak Touring”. They will explore the ins and outs of kayak touring (gear, packing, places, food) and will leave plenty of time for an open discussion and Q&A to learn from each other.

There is an admission fee to attend the festival. More information regarding festival hours and schedule can be found here:
