Canoecopia 2017: Pygmy Presentation on Greenland

Canoecopia Show Hours:
Friday, March 10th: 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Saturday, March 11th: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Sunday, March 12th: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

We are once again returning to the “largest paddle sports event in the world”.  Every year we meet more and more Pygmy owners and enjoy seeing all the friends we’ve made the year before. This year Pygmy Boat’s owner & designer, John Lockwood, will be presenting on the Greenland National Kayaking Championships he and daughter Freya attended in 2015. He will be showing the film  Namesake, and sharing stories from their journey to Greenland:

What: Journey to the Greenland National Kayaking Championships

Where: (Alliant Energy Center) Bear Room, upstairs (capacity: 168)

When: Sun 12:30pm-1:15pm

John and Freya take advantage of the long days with late night paddling (John in a borrowed boat and Freya in her take-apart kayak, the Freya).

As in the past, all of the boats in our display will be sourced by customers/builders in the area. If you haven’t been, this is a great event with lots of wonderful presenters and a giant room full of paddling enthusiasts. We look forward to once again attending and meeting our current and future customers/paddling friends. Be sure to stop by our booth (booth #R3 by the main entrance) and say hello!
If you have a Borealis or Coho you are proud of and would enjoy sharing it in the display, please contact us (please include some photos of your kayak).  Or if you have built a Pygmy and would enjoy inspiring others to do the same we have a couple of volunteer spots available. Folks really enjoy speaking with other people who have built their own boats. If this sounds like fun, shoot us an email and we’ll get you on the schedule. Either way, we hope to see you in Madison, Wisconsin!
