Canoecopia 2014

Canoecopia, held in Madison, WI, was once again a wonderful time.  This year we partnered with Sawyer Paddles for a wood oasis near the front door (amidst a sea of plastic, it was refreshing to introduce an alternative). We really enjoyed our visit and are so appreciative of everyone’s contributions: especially the many builders in the area who were willing to show off their handmade kayaks! A big thanks also goes out to all of our volunteers who spent hours chatting to folks about their building experience.  We heard from many people who found it inspirational to speak with other men and women who had built their own boat. One man summed it up when he said, “I can’t think of a better testimonial than to have locals talking to other locals about what it’s like to build your own kayak. This is cool.” We agree.  It was cool.  So here’s a big thank you to everyone who turned up and helped out! We couldn’t have done it without you.
